hi! I’m Mary Lizardi.
I’m a digital strategist and comms consultant for values-aligned organizations. I believe the proper tools, infrastructure, and stories can strengthen people-powered movements.
Outside of my work, you’ll usually find me on a bike. It’s my favorite way to know a new place. I’ve pedaled my way through Lisbon, Sardinia, Ciudad de Mexico, and parts of Greece. That same curiosity about a new place carries into my travel more broadly: I’m drawn to how countries approach the problems we Americans are still figuring out, from paid leave to health care.
I “side quest” a lot. Part of this has been working on short films at the intersection of advocacy and storytelling. Most recently, I helped on Las Bloodys, a project about the women-led network behind abortion access in Tijuana. I also worked on Order for Owen, a short film about identity, friendship, and queer community.
Once a month, my friend Zoe and I deliver meals to unhoused neighbors in the Bay Area through our project, Cycle & Serve. It’s our small way of tackling feeling powerless.
I also box. It helps.
